While out looking at new blenders I got side tracked with the sandwich makers. Last time I was in the presence of one of those was probably over five years ago. But, what memories I have of it are yummy ones to be sure. Which got me wondering if our home would not benefit from one of those now.

Being completely against impulse purchases, I left with out one, however started to do some research once I got home to my computer. What I came across, aside from a barrage of product comparisons was a blog by a woman who is a thrifty maven. She hailed the sandwich maker as one of the best gadgets she has to save money, and as such she says she uses it nearly daily to keep costs down. Furthermore, with all that practice she has compiled a list of recipes to go with her fanfare regarding the machine.

They do sound mighty tasty, for example: chicken pot pie, enchilada, and hot pastrami sandwiches along with desserts such as chocolate nut delight, and apple pie. Then she gets craftier and shares recipes for the sandwich maker egg roll and gyro. Now it is all coming back to me why it was such a staple in our home back then, and I am eager to bring this wonderful contraption back into play.
