Good Furniture that Makes Good Sense
May 25th, 2010Good FurnitureIf you are not familiar with the term upcycling, let me introduce you. The now popular term was created by the American architect William McDonough and the German chemist Michael Braungart in the book Cradle to Cradle. To upcycle means to take a used possession and make it into another purposeful object.
This is seen in full force in the furniture market today in numerous forms that have been embraced by the green community. The simple premise behind it makes good sense, and luckily in many cases it can make good furniture too. While these items can be purchased, you too can work some upcycling magic on your own. It should be noted that once you begin, it can become quite addictive.
